What is Semen Analysis?

A semen analysis measures the mount and quality of the fluid released at the point of ejaculation. It evaluates both the liquid portion, known as semen and the microscopic moving cells referred to as sperms. It is carried out when a medical doctor thinks that a man or a couple might have fertility problem. It can as well be used to countsperms after a man has had a vasectomy.

Why is Semen Analysis carried out?

The incidence of infertility is growing unexpectedly these days and semen analysis is one of the preliminary test performed to examine couples with infertility.
If you have passed through a vasectomy, semen analysis is performed to see if the procedure has been successful.
